Step 3: Its All About Serving Others
I Want To Serve Others
What Did Jesus Say To Do?
Jesus said in Matthew 20:26 & 28 (ESV), “It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to serve as He has served us. Our new found faith inspires us to give and serve others because we have experienced this same gift from the one who has saved us. We were created to serve others. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that, “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.”
We all have certain skill sets and passions that God has given us. Whether it be teaching, hospitality, greeting, or organization, we all have something to give for the advancement of the kingdom of heaven.
Discovering your new faith is a lot like swimming – you have to get in the water and start moving around. With the assistance of others in the church with more experience, identify what your gifts are.
We would encourage you to share those gifts by serving in areas of ministry. Take your time, make new friends, and have fun!
