| LifePower Sessions
Holy Spirit Month
Each Saturday in January, at 3:30pm, Kanisa held a leadership session dedicated to empowering our members in their calling to ministry. The four-weekend training opportunity has given those a renewed conviction and commitment to serve Christ in this year at Kanisa Fellowship!
Pastor Patrick Jacques drove home a great point when saying:
“Remember when you are leading your division that it is not your division, but it is God’s division. So imagine God came down to you and said: “Hey, how’s my division going?” Knowing He’d ask you this, you’d treat it with the top quality to represent Him. So don’t be selfish with your ministry, it’s God’s not yours!“
Other powerful guest speakers included: Ketziah Rhule, Pastor Patrick Jacques, Pastor Eustace Williams, and Pastor John Scott.

Kanisa Celebrates
Black History Month
Worship Arts Ministry

Above: Worship Ensemble
Eighty-eight years ago, Black historian Carter G. Woodson birthed the idea of Negro History Week, dedicated to recognizing the history and accomplishments of African Americans. In 1976, the week extended to an entire month and was renamed Black History Month.Worship Arts director, Petra-Gae Shakes says, “It is important for us to recognize our culture and our heritage. Music has always been critical to the Black experience. So the celebrations will focus on music, mostly.”The theme for Black History Month will be ‘Black Universal Worship’. Led by the worship ensemble, music from Africa, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean will be featured each week.
