SENIOR PASTOR

Recognized as spiritual leaders who participates in the weekly services. They provide support to the congregation on the Pastor’s behalf as undershepherds. Elders are involved in all aspects of the church’s functions, life, outreach and guidance. Email our elders at:

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY: Dahlia Nicholson

A ministry that inspires, engages & nurtures children in order for them to have a joyful relationship with Jesus.
CHURCH ADMINISTRATION: Shawn Ellis

Responsible for official church records, i.e. memberships in & out, and Council meeting minutes. They coordinates all church calendar dates, booking of rooms in the church, and the order of morning service through the Service Producers, assists the Pastor’s Office. The sub-ministries of Church Administration includes: Pastor’s Office, Fundraising Committee, Human Resources, Member Services, Service Producers, Technical Services.

Facilitates the internal & external church communications. Responsible for the promotion of the church’s activities.
EDUCATION: Maurice Ennis

This is the primary religious education system of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and has four main purposes: study of the scripture, fellowship, community outreach and world-mission emphasis. Promotes Christian Education, at any of the Seventh-day Adventist campuses in the GTA. Supports Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and Toronto Adventist District School Board (TADSB) students.
EVANGELIVING: Shaun Donald

Provides resources and trains church membership to unite their efforts with church officers in the proclamation of the gospel. Weekly Evangeliving spotlight shares highlights of our sharing Christ with others. They work along with Member Services and the Elders to introduce visitors to Christ.
HOSPITALITY: Yvonne Jones

Coordinates the functions of the church, for visitors & members to feel welcomed and “at home”. Organizes & schedules ushers for and at various church functions. The sub-ministries of Hospitality includes: Catering, Guest Services, Lighthouse, Safety & Security.

Plans activities and programs to ensure that the needs of members are met through its sub-ministries which includes: Couples Ministry, Community Services, Health Services, Men’s & Women’s Ministry, Single Parent ministry, Social Services, Young men & women ministry.
PRAYER MINISTRY: Joan Wilkinson

Provides opportunity for prayer and to petition for special needs. Assists with the weekly Prayer Meetings and coordinates prayer with the Pastors Office for the Sabbath’s speaker, and with the Elders for the weekly Sabbath Furnace Prayer.

Helps members become better stewards of the blessings God has provided and to assist in the implementation of God’s plan of systematic benevolence through Kanisa and the world wide church system. The department, along with Treasury is also involved in planning and budgeting for the church.
TREASURY: Jaime Hamer

Maintains the accounting activities of the church, which include the receipt and disbursement of funds and financial reporting. The department, along with Stewardship is also involved in planning and budgeting for the church.
WORSHIP ARTS: Petra-Gae Shakes

Responsible for enhancing all Kanisa worship services – including Sabbaths & Prayer Meetings - through the skilled and cultivated gifts of music, drama and dance. Worship Ensemble Leaders lead the congregation in worship.

Provides specialized programs for youth through its sub-ministries which includes: Sabbath School, Bible Bowl, Pathfinders, Youth Sponsors
