Our Former Pastor
From August 14, 2004 – September 15, 2012, Pastor John M. Scott ministered at the Kanisa Fellowship, a contemporary young adult church and, Toronto North Seventh-day Adventist Church. He has served this church district since he was installed in the summer of 2004, and has seen God’s guidance throughout.
Pastor Scott was born in Toronto, Ontario Canada but grew up in the sunny, twin-islands of Trinidad & Tobago. From a very young age he sensed the call of God to ministry.
Attending Oakwood University (formerly Oakwood College) in Huntsville, Alabama, Pastor Scott studied ministry, and graduated in spring of 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministerial Theology. Furthering his ministerial training, he attended the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Michigan and graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree in the summer of 2001 and was ordained to gospel ministry in July 2002.
Since 1997 Pastor Scott served the Ontario Conference of SDA through his ministry as youth pastor of both the Mississauga and Apple Creek Seventh-day Adventist Churches in the Greater Toronto Area. In his ministry to both churches the Lord blessed him with much fruit. He witnessed many, including youth/young adults, trained for ministry, evangelism and missions, and he saw many youth make decisions to follow Christ in baptism.
Throughout his ministry, Pastor Scott has completed several seminars and proclaimed the gospel to many in Canada, USA, England, Bermuda, the West Indies and Central America, at camp meetings, youth weeks of prayer, youth days, singles ministry events and at evangelistic campaigns. As a result many have been won to Jesus Christ.
Pastor Scott likes to read, play basketball and racquetball, and mentor youth. He loves the Lord and desires to stay committed to the cause of Christ in this generation. His gospel motto: “Not I but Christ.”
Thank you Pastor Scott for your ministry!
